About me

Dr. Benson Pulikkottil, MD, is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and the Medical Director of the Burn and Reconstructive Center at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He completed 11 additional years of advanced surgical training after medical school, developing deep expertise in aesthetic surgery, hand and nerve surgery, burn care, microsurgery, and regenerative medicine.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Benson has treated some of the most complex reconstructive cases. He is known for his ability to restore both form and function after traumatic injury, and this experience gives him a rare depth of understanding in his aesthetic work at the LaVie Institute. He blends precise surgical artistry with a warm, approachable bedside manner and a progressive focus on regenerative medicine and advanced recovery.

Dr. Benson's work has been recognized nationally and internationally, including the widely reported reconstruction of a patient injured in a grizzly bear attack featured by National Geographic and referenced on Grey’s Anatomy. He is a frequent speaker at regional, national, and international conferences, where he teaches his clinical experience and innovative surgical methods.

Outside of surgery, Dr. Benson is most devoted to his wife, Dr. Lily Daniali, and their two sons. In his free time, you’ll find him training in his home gym, getting in the cold plunge and sauna, listening to 90s grunge and hip-hop, or fly fishing along Colorado’s rivers.
